New Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to revolutionary freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma on his birth anniversary. He tweeted, “Tributes to the brave Shyamji Krishna Varma on his Jayanti. Leh: Observing International Day of Older Person 2022, the Non-Communicable Disease Cell, NHM Ladakh under National Programme for Health Care of Elderly organised a health screening at Old Age Home, Tibetan Children’s Village, Choglamsar on Monday. The general checkup team consisted of Dr Jigmet Namgyal, Dr Nishkamni and other staff members of Health Department Leh. New Delhi: The Government has approved ₹26,000 crore for installation of 25,000 mobile towers in 500 days, an official statement said on Tuesday. According to a telecom ministry spokesperson, financial support for the project will be provided by Universal Services Obligation Fund and it will be implemented by Bharat Broadband Network. Jammu: A 23-year-old working as a domestic help was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly killing Jammu and Kashmir Director General (Prisons) Hemant K Lohia, police said. Yasir Lohar’s arrest followed a major all-night manhunt, police said in a statement, adding that his interrogation had begun. He was arrested from a field in Kanhachak area. Lohar is a resident of Halla-Dhandrath village in Ramban district. Lohia was found dead at his residence in the outskirts of Jammu on Monday night. There were burn injuries and his throat was slit, officials said.
