Secretary Padma Angmo tours Anganwadi Centers of Kargil villages; reviews developmental activities

Kargil: On the first day of her visit to Kargil, Commissioner/ Secretary Social & Tribal Welfare UT Ladakh Padma Angmo inspected various Anganwadi Centers of Sankoo and Taisuru. She also visited GDC Kargil Sankoo Campus where she took stock of developmental activities.

Joint Director Information and Project Officer ICDS Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, Under Secretary Higher Education Rigzin Yangdol, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sankoo Mohd Hanif, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Sankoo Hadi Ali, CDPO Taisuru Syed Murtaza besides other concerned officers were present during the visit.
At GDC Kargil Sankoo Campus, the Commissioner/Secretary directed the incharge principal to start preparation for the implementation of New Education Policy (NEP). She also directed to submit the revised DPR of the construction of the college building as soon as possible.
She also visited various Anganwadi centers of Sankoo and Taisuru. The Commissioner/Secretary instructed the concerned officers to timely update the Poshan tracker and also instructed to link the Aadhar card of the children.
She also instructed the Supervisors to keep constant supervision over the nutrients being provided to the children according to the guidelines issued by the Central Government.
The Commissioner/Secretary also instructed the CDPOs to shift the Anganwadi centers adjacent to schools if possible. She also directed for proper coordination with Sarpanchs and Panchs of the village while suitable land should be identified for the construction of separate Anganwadi centers.
She also informed that the UT Administration will organize an exposure-cum-training program for Supervisors and Workers of Anganwadi centers soon adding that the transportation charges will be taken care of by the administration.

Padma Angmo also met a delegation of people at Sankoo and Taisuru and gave a patient hearing to all projected demands which mainly include upgradation of middle schools, creation of post for teachers in schools, creation of new Anganwadi centers, infrastructure development in schools and other related issues.
The Commissioner/Secretary assured the delegation that the issues will be taken up with higher authorities for early redressal.
