Jammu: Major grocery shops and departmental stores in Jammu, Srinagar and other major towns of Jammu and Kashmir may soon sell beer and other ready to drink beverages over the counters. The Administrative Council of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha which met in Srinagar last week has approved the proposal for authorizing departmental stores to sell beer and other Ready to Drink (RTD) beverages in urban areas. New Delhi: The Central Government on Tuesday notified the elevation of Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey as Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court. The Supreme Court collegium had recommended his elevation in a meeting of the Collegium headed by Justice of India UU Lalit on September 28. New Delhi:  The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir in a terror funding case having links to suspicious activities of Al Huda Educational Trust in the Union Territory. Leh:  State-owned Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL) has set up a solar-powered charging station for electric vehicles in the Ladakh region. “CESL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) under the Ministry of Power has established a first-of-its-kind solar-powered charging plaza for electric vehicles in the Ladakh region,” it said in a release on Monday. Srinagar: Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Monday said that a civil enclave will be built in Jammu at a cost of Rs 861 crores and the Srinagar’s present terminal will be expanded three times from 20,000 square meters to 60,000 square meters at a cost of Rs 1500 crores.
