Leh: Highlightin the immense potential of Ladakhis in the field of archery as a professional sport, Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Tashi Gyalson assured all possible assistance to uplift the sport and promote it among the local youths especially in the far flung regions.
He also congratulated Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Sherab for the extraordinary efforts in successfully conducting the 10-day long Archery camp for the youths and students of the sham region.
Tashi Gyalson attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest while DC Leh, Shrikant Suse was the guest of honour.
Councillor Khaltse, Sherab expressed his gratitude to the Hill Council led by the
Chairman/CEC, Dy Chairman/EC Sports, MP Ladakh, DC Leh, and all the other supporters for their valuable assistance in successfully conducting the 10 –day workshop and camp for the youths of the sham region.
He emphasised the need for upgrading and shaping skills in the sport so that the youngster could learn the basics from a very early age and can excel in future. He also expressed gratitude to the coaches/trainers led by Coach Motup Namgyal for their efforts in training the young archers dedicatedly.
DC Leh also addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of the organisers led by Councillor Khaltse for conducting such innovative and educative camps for the youths. He assured all possible assistance from the District Administration in future as well.
A friendly match was conducted between the teams. Prizes were distributed and trainers supporters were also felicitated during the occasion.
CEC Gyalson also visited the Zer-thang bridge at Khaltse to review progress and further instructed concerned officials for expediting work.
