
Working tirelessly for growth of all sectors in Ladakh: LG Mishra
LEH: The Administration of Ladakh union territory will ensure unprecedented development of all sectors, besides aiming to work for the overall development and progress of Ladakh, Lieutenant Governor Brigadier BD Mishra said.
Speaking in the inaugural episode of Ladakh DIPR’s ‘Sarphel Laskhungs’ Podcast, Mishra highlighted the government’s efforts to provide better healthcare facilities, education, and infrastructure in the region.
“The administration is working tirelessly for ensuring quality education, best health facilities, and working for initiatives to leave Ladakh a better place for the future generations,” LG Mishra said.
The LG Mishra, who also inaugurated the Podcast, discussed the latest developments in the region. He highlighted the government’s efforts to make Ladakh one of the top Union Territories in India. The LG pointed towards establishing a Medical College and Engineering in Ladakh in near future.
Mishra emphasized the importance of creating job opportunities for the youth of Ladakh and encouraging them to become job providers instead of job seekers.
He stated that the government is working towards creating a conducive environment for entrepreneurship and promoting startups in the region. Mishra also spoke about the government’s aim to make Ladakh a corruption-free region.
“Government is taking strict measures to curb corruption and ensure transparency in all its operations,” he said, urging the people of Ladakh to support the government in its efforts to eradicate corruption from the region.
Mishra also highlighted the government’s focus on promoting local products including Pashmina, and tourism in the UT.
He stated that the government is working towards developing the tourism infrastructure in the region and providing better facilities to tourists. He also emphasized the importance of promoting eco-tourism and preserving the natural beauty of Ladakh.
The Lt Governor stated that the government is committed to the overall development of Ladakh and is working on various projects to improve the standard of living of the people.
Mishra also spoke about the government’s aim to make Ladakh a self-sufficient region. He stated that the government is working towards promoting agriculture and horticulture in the region and providing better facilities to farmers.
The LG also mentioned ‘in a first’ initiatives taken by the UT administration including partaking in national and international sports events, cultural exchange program of Ladakh and Japan, girls get Polo training by President’s Body Guards, among other various initiatives.
