Ekta Nagar, October 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Ladakh Pavilion at Bharat Parv 2026 in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, on Friday, appreciating the Union Territory’s indigenous products, traditional handicrafts and cultural heritage showcased under Brand Ladakh.

The visit, held on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas, provided a national platform for Ladakh’s local producers, artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase their products and craftsmanship.

During his visit, the Prime Minister explored a range of locally manufactured products, including GI-tagged Ladakhi Pashmina and apricot products, Sea Buckthorn juice, Alfalfa honey, traditional wood carvings, Thangka paintings and other handicrafts.

He interacted with Ladakh representatives and enquired about the products, their production processes, nutritional value and health benefits. He took particular interest in Sea Buckthorn juice and appreciated the region’s distinctive, locally sourced products.

Modi also interacted with traditional cultural artists and appreciated their attire and cultural representation.

The pavilion featured tourism brochures highlighting Ladakh’s destinations, cultural heritage and adventure tourism attractions, presenting the region’s potential as a destination for visitors seeking Himalayan landscapes, spiritual experiences and cultural exploration.

The participation at Bharat Parv is expected to enhance the visibility of Ladakh’s indigenous products, strengthen market linkages and generate interest among prospective visitors. The showcase also highlighted the role of traditional craftsmanship and locally sourced products in supporting livelihoods and preserving the region’s cultural identity.

The Ladakh Pavilion was led by Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, alongside officials from the Tourism Department and the Academy.

The delegation’s participation in Bharat Parv 2026 is being undertaken under the guidance of Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena and the leadership of Sanjeet Rodrigues, Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, UT Ladakh.

The Prime Minister’s visit marks a significant moment for the Ladakh delegation, reinforcing the national focus on promoting indigenous products, supporting local artisans and entrepreneurs, and showcasing the region’s cultural and tourism potential.

Bharat Parv 2026 is being held as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Divas celebrations, providing participating regions an opportunity to present their products, traditions and cultural heritage to a national audience.
