Leh: The week-long Mega Talent Hunt at the Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh on the theme ‘Celebrating the Roots’ concluded today. The talent hunt was organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Workshop and Seminar Committee and the Student Council of the College.
Principal, EJM College, Dr Samina Iqbal was the chief guest at the valedictory function.
During the week-long event, many competitions were organised, including Calligraphy, Painting, Folk song, Folk dance, Photography, Rangoli, Mehndi, traditional dress contests and food stalls.
Around 300 students participated in the competition and showcased their talents under different categories.
The purpose of organising this event was to create awareness among the youth regarding the rich culture and tradition of Ladakh, besides giving them a platform to display their talent.
Principal Dr Sameena Iqbal emphasised the rich culture of Ladakh and added that the younger generation has an additional responsibility of ensuring that the culture and tradition remain intact.
Convenor, Workshop and Seminar Committee, Hajira Bano delivered the welcome speech and IQAC member, Dr Tashi Dorje presented the vote of thanks.
The students also displayed different food stalls of Ladakhi cuisine.
