Leh: Asserting that the administration led by Lieutenant Governor of R K Mathur is committed for the welfare of youth, the Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu said that after Ladakh become Union Territory the government has fulfilled the aspiration of youth by conducting recruitment through Service Selection Commission (SSC) and more district level posts will be advertised soon.

SSC Recruitment
Ajeet Kumar Sahu said that the administration has fulfilled its commitment by conducting the recruitment by Service Selection Commission (SSC).
“After the Ladakh become Union Territory on August 5, 2019, which came into existence on October 31, the People of Ladakh especially youth have the aspiration that recruitment should begin at the earliest,” Sahu said.
“We have done a lot of exercises to figure out modalities. Now, we are happy that the commitment has been fulfilled as exams for Union Territory Level as well as Divisional non-gazetted posts have been conducted by SSC this year,” he said.
Sahu added that results will be announced soon. This will help youth, who are waiting for Jobs.

More Jobs Coping Up
The recruitment exercise for Ladakh police has been completed and some are in process. Apart from this, recruitment done by Jammu and Kashmir Bank has been completed and the result will be announced soon.
“The process to provide job opportunities has been started and will continue,” he said adding that the vacancies for district-level posts will be advertised soon.
He also informed that the administration will also refer UT-level posts to SSCs in December.
Better Arrangements in Future
Sahu admitted that the job aspirants have faced problems this year as they have to visit Jammu, Chandigarh and Srinagar to appear in the SSC exam.
“The problem was triggered due to logistic issues and window for conducting exam was very small, otherwise the exam would be delayed by one year,” he said.
He added that the exam centres in Ladakh were not at par with the criteria set by SSC due to which exams were conducted in Jammu, Chandigarh and Srinagar.
He further said that the problems will be eliminated in coming times and sufficient exam centres will be available in districts Leh and Kargil.
It is pertinent to mention here that buses were arranged free of cost for the concerned aspirants for traveling from Leh to Jammu in several batches.
