Leh: In another inspiring story of veer naris, Mrs Rigzin Chorol, has become the first woman lieutenant of the Union Territory in the Indian Army.

Lt Rigzin Chorol along with 186 Officer Cadets passed out from Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai today. 36 foreign country Cadets also passed out. Lt Gen Batoo Tshering, Chief Operation Officer-Royal Bhutan Army reviewed the Passing Out Parade.

She lost her husband Rifleman Rigzin Khandap, when their son was 4 months old. She has earlier cleared her SSB interview from 22 SSB Bhopal.
“My journey starts from the day, I have decided to join this institution, I have to join this beautiful organization in which my husband has served for so many years,” Rigzin Chorol said in video message circulated on social media.
“And it was his dream to become an officer. So, I decided to join this organization. My journey starts at OTA on 12 December 2021 since then these 11 months have been very regressing training,” she said.
She said more than training it was difficult for me to stay away from only child.
