LEH: By July-August 2023, the construction of the statue of Wanla Lonpo at Wanla monastery will be complete and the model will be inaugurated apparently.
Regarding the project, a meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of the Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson to discuss the progress of the construction Wednesday.
CEC instructed the concerned officers of LDA to expedite the work progress and to complete the project by July-August this year for the timely inauguration. The documentation work is being done by Dr. Rigzin Chodon on the history of Wanla Lonpo and the statue is being prepared by Artist Chemat Dorjey.
ADC Leh, Sonam Chosjor; Xen LDA, Tsering Angchuk, Nambardar Wanla, and the concerned contractor were present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, A delegation of women’s group from Gangles to Skara village, Leh led by their President, Jigmet Chondol called on the Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson today.
They discussed their objectives and vision for forming the group to serve society, especially to work on resolving issues related to women.
They also discussed various other issues with CEC Gyalson during the meeting.
CEC Tashi Gyalson congratulated all the members led by their President and felicitated them as well. Taking note of their grievances, CEC Gyalson assured the delegation to address them at the earliest possible.
Similarly, later in the day, Chairman/ CEC, Tashi Gyalson chaired a follow-up meeting Wednesday to review progress and preparation for the mega plantation drive to be held in Lardho- Liktse this year.
Concerned Departmental HoDs apprised CEC of the developmental progress at the plantation site to date.
Several issues were also discussed and CCE Gyalson asked the officers to timely resolve them. He further instructed them to ensure the completion of all developmental works well on time.
Under the guidance of H.E Khamtak Rinpoche, Jigmet Nawang Namgial, the Mega Plantation Drive is aimed to overcome environmental challenges and to promote a greener earth.
