
UoL hosts International conference, CEC Gyalson attends inaugural session
Leh: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson attended the inaugural session of the international conference themed ‘Geothermal Ladakh PIVOT 2023 Building Bridges’ organised by Mountain Research Institute, University of Ladakh in collaboration with Women in Geothermal (India) and Inner Project Space, USA in Leh Friday.
Other distinguished guests present were, the Vice Chancellor of University of Ladakh, Prof. S.K Mehta, Former PCCF Ladakh, Jigmet Takpa (Retd. IFS), and Geothermal Expert, Kunzes Dolma. Project Innerspace USA representative, Jackson Grimes attended the conference virtually. Various other guests and students also participated in the day-long conference.
In his address, CEC Tashi Gyalson emphasised the immense potential of geothermal and renewable energy in Ladakh.
He highlighted that LAHDC Leh and the UT Administration Ladakh are working efficiently to harness these energy sources for a sustainable future and overall development, with a strong commitment to reducing the carbon footprint in Ladakh.
Earlier, VC University of Ladakh welcomed all the distinguished guests and participants, and furthermore, all the experts shared their valuable thoughts on the development of geothermal energy in Ladakh.
