Leh: Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Ladakh, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan chaired a preparatory meeting regarding organisation of the 7th edition of Ladakh Zanskar Festival scheduled to be held at Padum, Zanskar under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav tentatively on 29th and 30th September, 2022.

Detailed discussion was held on various aspects of planning and arrangements to be made related to the successful conduct of the 2-day festival.

Secretary, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan emphasised on adequate promotion through print, audio and video media and through social networking sites for propagation and publicity of the event. He instructed the concerned officers & departments to mobilise local stakeholders in particular and people in general to make the festival a true mirror of Ladakh’s culture, traditions, and cuisines and also to showcase local handicrafts, art and other products.

Details of the mega festival will be worked out by the District Administration, Kargil District under the chairmanship of DC/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil.

Apart from Ladakh’s culture, the festival is aimed at showcasing the pristine and unique beauty of Zanskar region of Kargil district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve; Director, Tourism, Ladakh Kunzes Angmo; SDM, Zanskar/Chief Executive Officer, Zanskar Development Authority, Sonam Dorjay; Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Iftikhar Ahmad Choudhary; Deputy Secretary, Ladakh Cultural Academy, Kargil, Nazir Hussain; Assistant Director, Tourism, Kargil Aga Syed Taha; OSD/Under Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Muhammad Ali Tak; President, All Kargil Travel Trade Association (AKKTA) Muhammad Ali Rangyul besides other concerned officers and officials.
