Leh: The stage is set for first-ever Incredible India Kargil Marathon in the Union territory of Ladakh as tribute to war heroes.
“The Incredible India Kargil Marathon (Half-21Kms) will be held on 24th July 2022 at Kargil. This Marathon is being organised as a tribute to the Kargil War Heroes,” an official said.
He added first ever Half Marathon is being organised by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in collaboration with Administration of UT Ladakh, LAHDC Kargil & Ladakh Tourism.
“Half Marathon will be flagged off from Khree Sultan Choo Stadium, Kargil enroute – Baroo – Titickumik (2.5Kms) – Rangmo Spang (5Kms) – Chutuk Heights Hotel – Minjee Gound (7.5Kms) – Goma Minjee T Point (10.5Kms) & Return,” he informed.
“Come and join this once-in-a-lifetime experience of running along the banks of the scenic Suru river amidst the mesmerizing beauty of Suru Valley,” he said.
Earlier, the CEC Feroz Khan reviewed and discussed all the arrangements pertaining to both Incredible India Kargil International Marathon and Kargil Ladakh Tourism Festival.
The meeting discussed facilitation to runners, transportation for runners from Leh/Srinagar to Kargil and accommodation for runners.
The meeting also discussed transportation facilities for runners for sightseeing, installation of stage and arrangements for providing furniture and furnishing, public announcement, drinking water facility and snacks, medical facilities, permission of doe stoppage of traffic movements and security arrangements.
