Kargil: Muhammad Mustafa, a resident of Barchey village called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra at Raj Niwas, Kargil on Tuesday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Sohail Ahmed, JKAS; Additional Superintend of Police, Nitin Yadav, IPS; Divisional Forest Officer, Kargil Shri Mohammad Ali and Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD, Kargil Mansoor Ali were present in the meeting.

Shri Mustafa apprised the LG about an unresolved issue regarding tree compensation under the road construction at Barchey village. He informed that he has not received compensation for trees since 2013 and requested LG’s intervention to expedite the resolution of this longstanding issue.
The LG directed DFO Kargil to promptly examine and resolved the case.

A delegation from Ladakh Buddhist Association, Kargil led by its President Morup called on the LG at Raj Niwas, Kargil. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Sohail Ahmed, JKAS; Additional Superintend of Police, Nitin Yadav, IPS and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kargil Abid Hussain were present in the meeting.

Morup highlighted the need for a Yoga and Meditation Centre to be constructed in Mulbekh, Kargil. He informed that Ladakh Buddhist Association, Leh had provided land for LBA Kargil at Saboo Thang for the construction of a Sarai. Morup requested financial assistance for both the construction of the Yoga and Meditation Centre and the compound walling/ fencing of the land at Saboo Thang.

The LG asked Morup to meet with Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Shrikant Suse to discuss the provision of funds for both projects.

A delegation from Hunderman Broq village led by Mohd Ilyass called on the LG at Raj Niwas, Kargil. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Sohail Ahmed, JKAS; Additional Superintend of Police, Nitin Yadav, IPS; Chief Engineer, PHE Maqbool Hussain and Project Director, Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) Kacho Ahmad Khan were present in the meeting.

Ilyass apprised the HLG about the shortage of drinking and irrigation water in Hunderman Broq. He informed that KREDA had prepared a project to lift water from the river Suru and requested the sanctioning of a lift irrigation plant at the earliest.

Chief Engineer, PHE, Ladakh Maqbool Hussain informed the HLG that the department was adopting a new technology to lift the water at higher level. He further informed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the lift irrigation project for the army at Hunderman Broq had been prepared. He informed the LG that submersible pumps had been already installed to supply drinking water to the village.

The LG directed Chief Engineer, PHE Ladakh to prepare a DPR and complete the water lifting project by 15th October, 2024. He instructed Secretary, PHE, Micheal D Souza, IAS to ensure the Chief Engineer remains in his post untill the project is complete.

A delegation comprising newly selected candidates in Safaiwala under Ex-Servicemen Category led by Khadim Hussain called on the LG at Raj Niwas, Kargil. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Shri Sohail Ahmed, JKAS; Additional Superintend of Police, Nitin Yadav, IPS and Deputy Director, Employment Khanzada Mohd Usman, JKAS were present in the meeting.

Hussain apprised the LG that nine candidates had been selected for the posts of Orderly under Ex-Servicemen Category and four candidates had been given the position of Safaiwala. He requested the LG to adjust the four candidates from Safaiwala to Orderly positions.

The LG spoke to Advisor to the LG about the possibility of amending of rules and asked to examine the matter.

A delegation comprising Part-Time Sweepers working in Health Department called on the LG at Raj Niwas, Kargil. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Sohail Ahmed, JKAS; Additional Superintend of Police, Nitin Yadav, IPS and Deputy Director, Employment Khanzada Mohd Usman, JKAS were present in the meeting.

The delegates requested the HLG to increase the honorarium of the Part-Time Sweepers working in the Health Department.

The LG asked Director Health Services and Director Finance about the current status of the matter. He directed Advisor to the LG to examine the file the Part-Time Sweepers.
