Kharu: The Sub Divisional Administration of Kharu, Sonam Dorjay, chaired a meeting today to finalize preparations for a two-day disaster mock exercise scheduled for 21st & 22nd of August, 2025 at SDM office, Kharu.
The exercise, titled “Night Mock Exercise: Hemis Bridge Collapse,” will simulate an earthquake scenario to test the readiness and coordination of various government departments, the Indian Army, and other key stakeholders.
The objective was to assign clear roles and responsibilities to all members of the incident response system (IRS) team and other departments to ensure a seamless and effective response.
This meeting was attended by key officials from civil and military administrations such as Lt. Col Rakesh Tripathi Adm Commander, Major Vikas Parihar 3 Artillery base camp, Representatives from 111RCC, 51 RCC, Head of the departments: – BDO, BO, MO, NT’s, Numbardar Kharu & Changa and other officers and officials from various departments and members of Incident response system team.
