LEH: Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Executive Chairman NALSA inaugurated the Legal Aid Clinic at Tangtse.
The programme was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Leh under the aegis of Ladakh Legal Services Authority.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Director NALSA, Yajuvender Singh, Member Secretary, LLSA , Spalzes Angmo , Principal District & Sessions Judge, YP Sharma,CJM Leh, Tsewang Phuntsog, Mobile Magistrate Leh, Chemit Yurgyal, Judicial Magistrate Khaltse, Wangail Tsering,SDM Tangtse, Mohd Ismail.
The programme was also attended by representatives of various departments and representatives of Panchayati Raj and villagers of Tangtse and villagers of nearby villages.
During the inaugural programme, Hon’ble Justice, Sanjay Kishan Kaul highlighted the importance of accessibility to justice for all citizens irrespective of economic status, gender and place of residence such as far flung places and stated that legal aid clinics shall play an important role of a medium/bridge for deprived people to reach to the doors of courts and attain justice free of cost.
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul also reiterated that PLVs working on ground level and manning the legal aid clinics throughout the nation are the real foot soldiers that help the deprived people to resolve disputes as very often they are the first person to come in contact with the aggrieved.
Justice also encouraged all the villagers to send their children to school without discriminating against the gender of the children as Right to education is also one of the basic rights which enable children to empower themselves to fulfill their goals and become an asset to society.In the end Hon’ble Justice appealed to the villagers to empower themselves with the knowledge of the Rights and schemes so that villagers may benefit from them.
In the beginning, Principal District & Sessions Judge Leh, YP Sharma presented the welcome speech and thanked the Chief guest Hon’ble Justice Sanjay kishan kaul for taking time out from busy schedule and inaugurating the legal aid clinic at Tangtse.
Member secretary LLSA, Spalzes Angmo gave the vote of thanks and thanked the Chief guest Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul for travelling to such a far-flung village and inaugurating the legal aid clinic at Tangtse.
Member Secretary also thanked all the dignitaries present and acknowledged their contribution for making the program a successful one.
