
Prepare Plantation Plan for next financial year: LG Mishra to PCCF Jigmet Takpa

Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) held a meeting with the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Jigmet Takpa, at Raj Niwas to discuss afforestation activities to improve the forest cover in Ladakh Tuesday.
The LG inquired about initiatives being taken to plant more trees to improve the forest cover in Ladakh and instructed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest to prepare a plantation plan for the next financial year.
Lieutenant Governor, Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), met Director, Rajya Sainik Board UT Ladakh, Col Lobzang Nima (Retd) and Commanding Officer, Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Col R S Parihar. Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse, was also present in the meeting.
Taking prompt action on the request made by the Welfare Society Board comprising ex-Servicemen of Ibex Colony, the LG inquired about initiatives being taken by the District Administration and Rajya Sainik Board for the establishment of a Children’s-cum-Elderly Park with essential open gym facilities.
DC Leh informed that 2.5 kanal land has been identified for the Park which will soon be transferred to Municipal Committee, Leh. He also informed about the detailed project report (DPR) being prepared for the park.
The LG instructed to complete the Park at the earliest so that the children and elderly people can avail its benefits. He also instructed to put appropriate fencing, level the ground and install benches and children’s play equipment in the Park.
He further instructed DC Leh to follow the timeline and complete the work within the stipulated timeline without compromising on the quality of work.
