Over 569911 Kanals of land in Kargil defined as Field Firing range
Kargil: The Government of UT Ladakh Monday issued a notification to define an area of land measuring 5,69,911 Kanals 17 Marlas as an area for carrying out periodical Field Firing and Artillery Practice here.
According to an order issued by the District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner Kargil, the said land for the cause is situated at village Matayeen Kharu District Kargil for a period of five years.
“S.O 08 issued by Home Department, UT Ladakh vide endorsement No. Home/UTL(230)/2023/522-36 dated 13.03.2023 defines an area of land measuring 5,69,911 Kanals 17 Marlas situated at village Matayeen Kharu District Kargil as an area for carrying out periodical Field Firing and Artillery Practice for a period of five years as per the following points and Grid reference of the proposed range,” order read.
The authorities in this regard would accept any objections within a period of two months from the date of issuance of this notice.
Further, vide S.O 08 issued by the Home Department, UT Ladakh vide endorsement No. Home/UTL(230)/2023/522-36 dated 13.03.2023 the Administration of UT Ladakh has expressed its intention to authorize carrying out Field Firing and Artillery Practice throughout an area notified vide S.O 08 dated 13.03.2023 or any specified part thereof for a period of five (05) years.
