Leh: The 3 days Cardiac Camp organized by Paras Hospital Gurugram, in association with Dream 4A Change and in collaboration with LAHDC, Kargil and Health Department Kargil at 300 bedded District Hospital Kurbathang, Kargil concluded.
More than 350 patients were given consultation service and 25 have been given consultation for further treatment at higher institutions.
Dr Mahesh Wadhwani Cardiac Surgeon, Chief of Cardiac Surgery Paras Hospitals Gurugrham, while talking to Media said that his team was very much satisfied with the kind of cases they got here and out of 350 screened in Kargil, out of which 25 has been recommended for surgery.
He further said that the cost of the surgery of the Children will be borne by an organization called Genesis Foundation and assured that he will find funders for the surgery of the adults also.
It’s the 3rd Camp in Kargil they are doing and without the support of the LAHDC Kargil and Dream 4A Change Foundation of Shahnawaz Var it was not possible for organizing such a successful Camp, Dr Mahesh Added.
Thanking Health department Kargil Dr Wadhwani said that the help at Kurabthang 300 Bedded Hospital, during the camp by Health Department shows the positive approach for a better health facility in this frontier region.
He said that he is happy to find that the patients who were operated on during the 1st camp in 2013 have grown well and are happily living their life which added to the happiness and satisfaction.
It’s common in hilly regions to find Heart Disease in children from his birth time and most of the time parents are not aware about the same.
If a child is weak or is not able to walk then the parents should go for an Echo Checkup which is available in Kargil.
He further said that it is to his surprise that in the last camp he found few patients of Coronary Artery disease and this time it has increased to 20 to 30 % which is not good and people should adopt a healthy lifestyle.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shahnawaz Var and His NGO Dream 4A Change Foundation has contributed a lot in the health sector in Ladakh region, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
So far more than 94 children were given full surgical and follow-up treatment through the Foundation and 19 Knee Replacement with 17 Free of Cost.
During Covid 19 Pandemic Shahnawaz Var arranged more than 2000 Litres of Sanitizers and 26,000 masks and were distributed free of cost and Shahnawaz relentless service in the health sector to the needy is still continuing and the people are benefiting from the service and camps.
