KARGIL: District Administration Kargil Tuesday organized a day-long orientation program on the Digital India Land Records Modernization Program (DILRMP-MIS 2.0), a program that aims to transform traditional methods of revenue to modern methods here at Conference Hall, Baroo.

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan, Executive Councilor Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mehdi Fazili, EC RD, Tourism, Zanskar Affairs, Er Phunsok Tashi, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), AG Zargar, SDM Shakar Chiktan, Mohammad Shareef Kakpori, SDM Zanskar, Sonam Dorjey, Councilors from various Constituencies, Block Development Chairpersons (BDCs), officials of Revenue Department and other concerned officials attended the program.

At the outset, the CEC congratulated Revenue Department for conducting the orientation program on DILRMP for Councillors, BDCS and officials of the Revenue Department.

Terming public representatives as a bridge between the government and general public in implementing various government schemes and programs, Khan said the responsibilities lie on PRI members to sensitize public about the digitization of land records.

He said earlier maintaining land records manually was an exhausting and time-consuming process for both the officials and for the general public.

The CEC said the digitization will lower burden and general public can easily access their land records on their own with the help of digitization of land records.

Khan said people might have confusion regarding the ongoing surveys at villages which needs to be cleared with the help of proper awareness camps, and orientation programs in order to sensitize them so that work of digitation can be executed properly.

Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve said that through SVAMITVA scheme and with the help of technology, drone survey has been conducted in some parts of the district.

He said after the digitization all over India, the land records will be documented in three languages which are Hindi, English and one regional language for the accessibility of general public who want to have access of the land records.

DC Kargil further said Aadhaar Card number will be linked with the digital record which will give lot of benefits to the common people like mortgage for bank loan and easy access to avail the benefits of various Central Sponsored Schemes.

The Deputy Commissioner requested the public representatives to extend their support to the administration to implement the scheme at the ground level without any hindrance.

Earlier, SDM Shakar Chiktan, who is also the Nodal officer of DILRMP Kargil District gave a detailed presentation on the background of DILRMP, its objective, main components, achievements of DILRMP, it’s importance etc. Later, property certificates were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
