Leh: Looms of Ladakh Women Cooperative office bearers and Milee Parmar hosted unveiling of Looms of Ladakh Centre of Excellence in Leh.

Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal was the Chief Guest for the event.

The Ladakh Pashmina Project is a joint endeavor of Nature Conservation Foundation, All Changthang Pashmina Growers Society, Looms of Ladakh supported by ICICI Bank and ICICI Foundation. The motivated team AT Looms of Ladakh comprising of CEO Lamo, Cashier Shakila, Office bearers of Looms of Ladakh and Founder Director & Strategist Abhilasha Bahuguna to make this a cooperative movement in Ladakh.

While speaking, MP JTN He also apprised the audience that Looms of Ladakh is the fruit of collective perseverance since 5 years which he has closely observed since his councillor days.

xecutive Councillor Sheep/Animal Husbandry Tashi Yakzee, Executive Councillor Handloom Ghulam Mehdi, Chairman All Changthang Pashmina Growers Society, Secretary ACPGS, COO ICICI Foundation Shri Anuj Aggarwal, representatives from Nature Conservation Foundation, Earthling Ladakh, 17000 feet, Balipara Foundation, Royal Enfield were present along with member owners of Looms of Ladakh at the inauguration.

CEO Looms of Ladakh encouraged the members to believe and persevere in the face of all obstacles.

Team Looms of Ladakh also encouraged the Changpa community of Eastern and South Eastern Ladakh to send their women, daughters to their office for product development for a week to Leh. This shall add INR 1500-5000 per month to direct accounts of the Changpa women by value addition. The Centre of Excellence is funded hugely by ICICI Bank and partially by Royal Enfield.
