
LG Mishra visits Karsha, Stongday monasteries, interacts with monks, public to discuss issues
Kargil: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), visited Karsha Monastery and interacted with monks of the monastery on Day 2 of his tour to Zanskar sub-division Wednesday.
The LG was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at the newly constructed Karsha Monastery. Several delegations meet the LG and raised their demands, viz. funds for the completion of the Summer Philosophical Symposium and Cultural Centre; construction of wall for the Summer Philosophical Symposium and Cultural Centre; funds for organising a seminar on ancient Indian Nalanda Buddhism; sanctioning of solar-powered water lifting project for Karsha village; construction of protection bund along the Karsha stream; macadamisation and widening of Chuchikjal-Karsha link road, etc.
The LG assured to look into their demands and take necessary steps to work on their demands based on their priority. He stated that the Administration is committed to developing Zanskar sub-division and other parts of Ladakh. He appreciated the Head Lama of the monastery, Ven Padma Namgyal, for his contribution towards the construction of the new Karsha Monastery.

The LG also visited Stonday Monastery and interacted with monks, ex-servicemen and public representatives.
The LG was given a warm welcome on his arrival at the Stongday Monastery. The monks, ex-servicemen and public representatives apprised the HLG of several issues faced by them.
The LG assured to look into their issues and take necessary measures to resolve the issues for the ease and convenience of the people of the village and the whole of Zanskar sub-division.
Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, IAS; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Sonam Dorjey; Padma Shri Chhultim Chonjor besides other district and sub-divisional officers were present during the LG’s visit.
