
LG Mishra hosts dinner for Union Minister Bhupender Yadav at Raj Niwas
The Union Minister visited Chushul during his two-day visit to Ladakh
Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) hosted dinner for the Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav, at Raj Niwas after his return from a two-day visit to Chushul village in Durbuk sub-division.
The LG accorded a warm welcome to the Hon’ble Minister on his arrival at Raj Niwas.
The LG inquired about the Minister’s visit to Chushul. The Minister informed about his visit to Chushul to oversee the ongoing development in the border village under the Vibrant Villages Programme.
The Minister expressed happiness with the development activities being carried out in Chushul such as the installation of solar water plant under the Jal Jeevan Mission which is ensuring potable drinking water to the villagers even in the winter.
The Minister shared his experience about his stay at Chushul at a villager’s house and also his visit to the Chushul monastery.
The Minister informed about his respectful visit to the Rezang La War Memorial which honours the bravehearts from his fold and place who fought the Battle of Rezang La in 1962.
The LG informed the Minister about the initiatives being taken to develop border villages such as Chushul and Korzok under the Vibrant Villages Programme along with improving the means of livelihood of the people of these villages.
He discussed various other developmental matters with the Minister.
