Leh: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) hosted a farewell party to bid adieu to outgoing Commissioner Secretary, Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan, and Secretary to the LG, Ravinder Kumar, at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat.

Wishing the best for their future assignments, the LG stated that the administration is bidding farewell to two capable and hardworking ‘friends.’

He advised both officials to keep their integrity, morality and principles intact no matter what difficulties they encountered during their assignments. He also stated that one’s real character is tested when the going gets tough and advised them to carry on despite all the constraints.

He further stated that he was impressed with the work undertaken by Ravinder in resolving the issue of mortality of pashmina kids during the winter months.

The LG informed about the distribution and installation of 1000 pashmina goat kids pens in the Changthang area under Ravinder’s guidance to save the pashmina goat kids from sub-zero temperatures in the winter months.

The LG also appreciated the commitment and sincerity of Kacho Mehboob Ali Khan and highlighted the vital role by Kacho Mehboob during the UT Foundation Day 2023, where groups of students and teachers from Ladakh were sent to 28 states and 07 UTs to represent Ladakh and perform at various Raj Niwas/Raj Bhawans. The LG also felicitated both officials with traditional khataks and souvenirs.

ADGP, Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS, informed his association with Ravinder since the latter was the Deputy Commissioner of Reasi and Udhampur. He stated that both officers have been an asset to all the departments where they had worked.

He expressed his best wishes to both the officers for their future endeavours and called their farewell as ‘heart-wrenching.’

Kacho Mehboob expressed his gratitude to the LG for organising the farewell party and for all the support provided by the LG, the Departmental Secretaries and all the government officials.

He informed about various initiatives taken by him during his tenure as the Commissioner Secretary of various departments of Ladakh over the past three years, including the development of tourism infrastructure, the Homestay Policy to promote rural tourism, the promotion of tourism and culture department, engagement of labours in Border Roads Organisation (BRO), welfare scheme for labourers, excise policy, etc.

Ravinder Kumar expressed his gratitude for organising the farewell party and for all the support he received from the LG, the Departmental Secretaries and all the officials.

He informed about various initiatives taken by him as the Secretary of various departments over the past four years, including the Leh-Nubra Transmission Line, Ladakh Green House and Milk Pasteurisation Plant.

Ravinder also expressed gratitude to both LAHDCs and the District Administration for their constant support during his tenure.

He expressed his best wishes to outgoing Commissioner Secretary Kacho Mehboob for the completion of his three-year tenure in UT Ladakh.

ADGP, Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS; Principal Secretary, Sanjeev Khirwar; Commissioner Secretary, Dr Laltinkhuma Franklin; Secretary, Amit Sharma; Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve; Director, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Ladakh, Tahir Hussain, besides officers and officials of Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat, were present during the farewell event.
