Leh: As Ladakh gets overcrowded with the ongoing tourist season, the local administration is making all possible efforts to keep the urban areas clean and spacious.
A slew of measures have been proposed in the past to regulate traffic and de-congest the city spaces. Even as more infrastructure is coming up, the administration is keen on improving the aesthetic look and living conditions.
Being the central city of Ladakh and seat of local administration, Leh city is getting increased attention of all departments for mopping up facilities and improving conveniences.
The Urban Local Bodies has sought voluntary participation of city’s business community to remove encroachments, keep city spacious and clean.
Over the last two days the municipal officials inspected all city markets and encouraged shopkeepers to remove encroachments. “Be responsible citizen & stop illegal encroachment and add to the beautification of the city”, a ULB official said.
