Leh, September 17:
A dinner reception was hosted by LAHDC Leh at Ladakh Sarai, Saboo, in honour of the visiting super specialist doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi, who are in Ladakh to conduct the annual charitable medical camp organised by Ashoka Mission in collaboration with LAHDC Leh and the Phande Lekjin Welfare Society.
The event was graced by Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, Adv. Tashi Gyalson; Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, Shri Tsering Angchuk; Hon’ble Executive Councillors, Shri Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, Shri Ghulam Mehdi, and Shri Stanzin Chosphel; BJP Leh President, Shri Tashi Gyaltson Kachu; ADDC Leh, Shri Sonam Norboo; CPO Leh, Shri Tsewang Gyalson; Director Health, Shri Tashi Thinles; General Secretary of Ashoka Mission, Shri Tashi Motup; along with members of the Phande Lekjin Welfare Society.
In his welcome address, Hon’ble Executive Councillor Shri Stanzin Chosphel expressed gratitude to the visiting doctors for their continued commitment, noting that their annual visits have brought much-needed medical expertise to Ladakh. He also recalled the legacy of Ven. Lama Lobzang, whose vision continues through the dedicated efforts of Shri Tashi Motup and Ashoka Mission.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kaushal Kumar, Head of the Department of Venereology, AIIMS New Delhi, thanked LAHDC Leh and Ashoka Mission for their long-standing collaboration and expressed pride in serving the people of Ladakh through these medical camps.
Hon’ble CEC Tashi Gyalson and Hon’ble Dy. Chairman Shri Tsering Angchuk presented tokens of gratitude to the team of doctors, acknowledging their invaluable contribution in providing specialised healthcare and extending hope to patients across the region.
The evening featured a soulful cultural performance by Norgais and his team, offered as a warm gesture of appreciation to the esteemed guests.
