Leh: The administration of Ladakh is making all possible efforts to make visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama memorable.

As per the schedule, His Holiness Dalai Lama is visiting Ladakh on July 15 after four years.

In this, the people and administration will enthusiastically organise the programmes to welcome spiritual leader.

His Holiness Dalai Lama is reaching Jammu on July 14. After staying in Jammu at night, he will leave for Leh around 10 am on July 15. He will be welcomed on his arrival at Jammu airport.

As per reports, His Holiness Dalai Lama is going out of Himachal Pradesh’s Dharamsala for the first time after the COVID-19 Pandemic. He is coming to Ladakh on the invitation of Ladakh Buddhist Association.

During the visit, His Holiness Dalai Lama Dalai Lama is scheduled to stay in Leh till August 19.

Recently, Ladakh has celebrated the Dalai Lama’s 87th birthday with full gusto.

He will be welcomed by organizing cultural programs on July 15. He will be welcomed at Leh airport by Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur, officials of Ladakh Buddhist Association and officials of Leh Hill Council.

He will be taken in the rally to his residence in Choglamsar in Leh.

In the evening of the first day of his visit, His Holiness Dalai Lama will meet with close to a hundred prominent people of Ladakh in the evening at his residence.

Deputy president Ladakh Buddhist Association and former minister, Tsering Dorje said in a interview that Ladakh has waited four years for the arrival of the His Holiness Dalai Lama. “Ladakhis are very excited to see him,” he said adding that the the Lieutenant Governor’s administration, Ladakh Buddhist Association and the organizations of the residents of Tibet settled in Ladakh have made full preparations to make the Dalai Lama’s visit a success.

The Ladakh Police has appealed to the residents of the area to cooperate with the traffic restrictions in Leh to make the Dalai Lama’s visit a success.

Amidst preparations for the Dalai Lama’s visit, the Ladakh Traffic Police has imposed traffic restrictions from July 6 till his presence in Ladakh.

Traffic Police has banned the movement of vehicles from Mahabodhi-Sindhu bend towards Choglamsar, Chushot, Spituk and Leh axis. Sabu crossing to Choglamsar-Jewesal road will be completely closed for vehicles.

Vehicles coming from Manali towards Chushot are being diverted towards Shashi crossing and vehicles going towards Leh from Mahabodhi bypass.
