KARGIL: In a significant development, MP Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, alongside Mohd. Ali Chandan, the District President BJP Kargil, Friday met with Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Government of India to express gratitude for the approval of a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil District and to request the prompt issuance of the formal order for its early functioning.
Recognizing the need for a Passport Seva Kendra in Kargil to assist Hajis and other travelers, various BJP delegations, including Ladakh Hajj Committee Chairman Mohd. Ali Majaz, consistently pursued this matter.
During the Minister’s visit to Kargil in September 2023, BJP Kargil highlighted the importance of a Passport Seva Kendra, and MP JTN continued these efforts in Delhi.
Following persistent endeavours across various sectors, the Ministry of External Affairs has greenlit the establishment of a Passport Seva Kendra in the Post Office of Kargil.
This decision is expected to greatly benefit the people of Kargil, particularly Haj Pilgrims, Ziaratis, and foreign visitors.
