ITBP lifts 17th CEC Cup Women’s Ice Hockey Championship

Leh: Final match of the 17th CEC Cup Women’s Ice Hockey Championship was played between ITBP and LWIHF teams at the Ice Hockey Rink, NDS Sports Complex at Leh Wednesday.

The Executive Councillor for Minority Affairs, LAHDC Leh, Ghulam Mehdi Ashoor was the chief guest on the occasion. Hon’ble Councillor Thiksey, Stanzin Chosfail; Councillor Khaltse, Lobzang Sherap; President LTTA, PT Kunzang; DYSSO Leh, officers from ITBP, officials of Ladakh Winter Sports Club, and various esteemed guests and officials were present during the final match.

EC Ghulam Mehdi congratulated the winner as well as the runner up teams and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours.

He appreciated ITBP team and LWIHF team for their consistent placing in the final CEC Cup Ice Hockey Championship matches over the years.

He advised the players to inspire and motivate the young generation to take up this sport and also lauded the tireless effort of the organizing committee for timely and successfully organizing the Ice Hockey Championship.

He also informed that Hill Council, Leh is working tirelessly to develop this sport within various capacities.

Prizes were distributed among players and the officials were felicitated by the chief guest.
