Under the meticulous supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Zanskar, Romil Singh Donk and Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan, a Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program unfolded, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

Held amidst the breathtaking backdrop of Daradrung Glacier in Penzila, the SVEEP program garnered enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders.

The program sent an appeal to all eligible voters aged 18 and above to actively engage in the democratic process. This call to action was eloquently reinforced through a stirring welcome speech delivered by Tehsildar/AERO Zanskar, Mohd Hassan.

Central to the event was the solemn pledge undertaken by all participants, affirming their commitment to ensure free and fair elections.

A highlight of the program was the enlightening speeches delivered by students, who passionately elucidated on the importance of voter awareness and civic duty.

The students enthralled the audience with traditional folk songs centered around voter awareness, seamlessly blending heritage with contemporary issues.

Furthermore, in a creative endeavour to engage participants, a snow sculpture selfie point by the students was also established on the majestic Darandung Glacier.

The program saw participants joining hands in a symbolic human chain under the fluttering tri-colour of India’s flag, symbolizing unity and solidarity in pursuit of democratic ideals.

The program concluded with vote of thanks speech by SDM Zanskar. He thanked the participants for making the program successful and appealed to them to carry the message of active participation in the voting process, underscoring the pivotal role of community engagement in shaping the electoral landscape.
