Leh: Ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, the Army personnel performed Yoga early morning in extreme cold conditions in Kargil.
As per the reports, the Army Jawan were captured performing Yoga in altitudes ranging from 14,000 feet to 18,000 feet

Moreover, Expecting the participation of more than 3000 fitness enthusiasts in International Yoga Day, the administration of Ladakh has started preparations to make the event a grand success.
The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated annually on 21 June since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014.

“This year’s yoga day celebrations will be held on a grand scale in accordance with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Around 200 people are expected to participate at Pangong Lake and about 2000 participants are expected to participate at Open Stadium Spituk. Similarly, in Kargil, over 1000 people are expected to participate,” an official told IndusDispatch
“ Union Minister for Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju will lead the celebration in Leh by practicing yoga asanas at Pangong Tso site. Similarly, led by the Minister of Home Affairs, Ajay Kumar Mishra, IDY will be celebrated at the Khree Sultan Cho stadium in district Kargil. Around 500 people are expected to participate in the Pangong Tso site event and another 700 people are expected to participate at the Khree Sultan Cho stadium in Kargil,” he added.
This year, the Ministry of Ayush has coined the theme “Yoga for Humanity”. The theme was selected with the aim to activate and inspire the yoga community for sustainability and global development.
