Henaskot becomes second Har Ghar Jal certified village in Kargil

Kargil: Department of Public Health Engineering today organized a Gram Sabha under the banner of Implementation Support Agency (ISA) Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) completion certificate at Henaskot.

On the occasion, nominated Councilor for minority Padma Dorje, Assistant Executive Engineer Mohammad Abdullah, District Team Leader PMU Kargil Dhananjay Singh, Sarpanch Bodh Kharboo-Henaskot Sonam Gochak, Junior Engineer Ali Asgar and team of ISA besides of villagers were present.

Nominated Councilor Padma Dorje addressed the public and congratulated the people of Heanskot on the completion of Har Ghar Jal scheme.

He thanked the Government of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor UT Ladakh RK Mathur, Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan, Member of Parliament Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgial, Commissioner Secretary PHE Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve and engineers of PHE Department for their unconditional support for successful implementation of scheme in remote areas in Ladakh despite harsh climatic condition.

He said that Henaskot village in Shakar Chiktan subdivision to achieve the goal of providing tap water to every household.

Assistant Executive Engineer, PHE Kargil Mohammad Abdullah said that under his jurisdiction, Henaskot village has become the second Har Ghar Jal certified village in the district.

He said that despite various challenges, the consistent efforts by Panchayat representatives, and officials of the department have led to provision of functional tap water connections to 60 households, 01 each school, health care center, Aganwadi Centre, Panchayat Ghar and monastery.

He further said that the villagers will get benefit from functional household tap and assured that proper functioning of the project and proper monitoring by the department in the future.

Meanwhile, Henaskot village has achieved an unprecedented and proud achievement of providing clean tap water to every household through the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The villagers also expressed gratitude to the authorities for the successful implementation of functional household tap connection.
