Haj Committee Ladakh for increase in quota of UT Haj pilgrims

Leh: Haj Committee Ladakh requested for assistance from LG BD Mishra led administration to increase in the quota of Haj pilgrims from the Union Territory.

Chairperson of Haj Committee Ladakh Mohd Ali Majaz also requested the LG for assistance in setting up the Haj Committee Office.

Also other issues were put forth by a delegation from Haj Committee Ladakh comprising its Chairperson, Mohd Ali Majaz and members- Mohd Ali Chandan, Nazir Ahmed and Mirza Hussain- before Lieutenant Governor Brig BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas.

Mohd Ali Majaz informed the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh about the formation of the Haj Committee Ladakh comprising six members almost two months ago. He also informed that the headquarter of the Haj Committee is at Kargil.

Majaz further informed that the last date for submitting online applications for Haj pilgrims is the first week of March, 2023.

Mohd Ali Majaz requested for assistance in setting up the Haj Committee Office and increase in the quota of Ladakh Haj pilgrims.

Majaz led delegation also requested for capacity-building trainings for the members of the Haj Committee to enable them to provide the best possible services to the Haj pilgrims.

“Some of the members may be allowed to accompany Haj pilgrims for their assistance during their journey,” Majaz called to LG.

The LG assured them of his full support in this matter.
