Leh: Chairman, Chief Executive Councillor Adv. Tashi Gyalson Friday hailed the recent consent in High Power Committee (HPC) to reserve seats for women in elected and nominated bodies within the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The CEC said this milestone marks a historic moment for the women of Ladakh.
A delegation led by the CEC Gyalson accompanied by Dr. Kunzes Dolma, Vice President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association, and Dorje Anchuk, Senior Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party Ladakh, called on the Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, at his residence in Delhi.
The delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Minister of State Nityanand Rai for the recent consent in High Power Committee (HPC) to reserve seats for women in elected and nominated bodies within the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The delegation also extended their appreciation to the Minister of State for his unwavering support to Ladakh.
Earlier in the day, a delegation of all Ladakh Transport Association, led by the Chairman, CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson met with the Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth to discuss pressing issues faced by transport cooperative societies in Ladakh, particularly with relation to civil hired transport.
The delegation submitted a memorandum outlining the key concerns and requested the Minister’s intervention to resolve the matter.
The Minister assured the delegation that he would look into the issues raised and work towards finding a solution.
This meeting marked a significant step towards addressing the challenges faced by transport cooperative societies in Ladakh.
Meanwhile, Chairman, CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with esteemed dignitaries paid rich tributes to the visionary leader, Dr B.R. Ambedkar, on his 69th death anniversary at the event hosted by Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party.
The event, attended by Chief Guest B.L. Santosh, National General Secretary, BJP (Organization) and Guest of Honour Tarun Chugh, National General Secretary, Dr. Anirban Ganguly, Chiarmen SPM, India in the presence of Venerable Monks, Smt. Rinchen Lhamo Member Minority Commission was a testament to Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy in shaping modern India.
As the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Ambedkar played a pivotal role in framing a document that guarantees justice, equality, and freedom to all citizens of India. His unwavering commitment to uplifting marginalized communities and breaking the shackles of caste discrimination continues to inspire generations.
“Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and dedication to creating an egalitarian society are pillars upon which modern India stands. His work as the principal architect of the Constitution laid the foundation for social justice, ensuring that every individual, regardless of caste, religion, or creed, is entitled to fundamental rights and freedoms,” said CEC Tashi Gyalson.
The event was also attended by Venerable Sanghasena, Venerable Lama Chosphel Zotpa, Acharya Yeshi Phuntsok, Venerable Monks, Dr.Kunzes Dolma, Vice President LBA, Sh. Dorjey Angchuk, Vice President BJP, Sh. Stanzin Lakpa Councillor and other important dignitaries.
