Leh: Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Shri Tsering Angchuk, chaired a meeting today at the Council Secretariat on the Great Himalayan Adventure Festival 2025, the first pilot project for adventure tourism initiated by the Ladakh Bikers Union, scheduled from 23rd to 28th September.
The festival will be held in two phases. The first phase (23rd–25th September) features an exclusive overlanding ride for influencers through villages, focusing on sustainable travel, village tourism, and documenting the region’s cultural and natural richness for national and global media exposure.
The second phase (26th–28th September) in Leh will include heritage walks, cultural talks, exhibitions, traditional and motorcycle polo matches, and musical evenings at Leh Palace, LAMO, Old Town, and the Polo Ground.
Shri Tashi Yountan, President of the Ladakh Bikers Union, highlighted the festival’s role in promoting adventure tourism, extending the tourism season, and attracting wider media attention, while requesting logistical and medical support.
The Hon’ble Deputy Chairman emphasized proper venue management, smooth traffic flow, and inter-departmental coordination for a successful event. He also asked for a review of the arrangements, and assured the Council’s full support.
