Govt transfers 77 vacant Gazetted posts of constituent Colleges to University of Ladakh

Leh: In a major move, the Government of Union Territory, Higher Education Department has transferred 77 vacant Gazetted posts of constituent Colleges to University of Ladakh.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with Indus Dispatch and is also embedded below, the 77 vacant Gazetted posts were allocated to UT Ladakh by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as a cadre of the Higher Education.

“The 77 vacant Gazetted posts of the Constituent Colleges allocated to Union Territory of Ladakh by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as a cadre of the Higher Education (Gazetted) Service for the Union territory of Ladakh, is hereby transferred to the University of Ladakh for its Six Constituent Colleges,” the order read.

The order read that the indicative distribution of the posts is given in the Annexure to this order and may be finalized by the University of Ladakh in its Syndicate.

“University of Ladakh shall formulate the Recruitment Rules for these posts and place before the University Council before the posts are advertised. Budgetary support for these posts shall be sought by University of Ladakh under Grant-in-Aid,” it read further.

University of Ladakh, was created as a Cluster University under the University of Ladakh Act, 2018 (hereinafter referred to as the Act), by pooling the resources of existing Colleges of Ladakh.
