Forty-five-day-long winter coaching programme concludes at Thiksey


Leh: The Forty-five-day-long winter coaching programme at Shesrap Skyadtsal Ling Library and Learning Centre, Thiksey concluded the other day.

The Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson graced the occasion as the chief guest accompanied by the Member Parliament Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as the guest of honour. Special guests included Dy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk, and Indian Army officers including Brig Vinod S, SM, VSM BGS (Int) HQ 14 Corps, and Councillor Thiksey, Stanzin Chosfail.

Venerable monks of Thiksey Monastery, village representatives, officials of Shesrap Skyadtsal Ling Learning Centre, teachers, parents and students from various parts of Ladakh attended the closing ceremony.

MP JTN and Dy Chairman Angchuk addressed the gathering and emphasised that this centre is an institution for comprehensive secular ethics-based learning.

Both the officials appreciated the role being played by the centre under the guidance of H.E Kushok Thiksey Rinpoche in preserving the language, culture and socio-religious traditions among the youths.

They lauded the organisers and all the supporters for successfully organising the winter camp at Thiksey.
