Leh: The sports committee of Government Degree College Nubra organised the first-ever Intramural Table Tennis tournament on July 12 at the college campus.

Director, Physical Education and Sports, Dr Tsering Spalzom who is also the Convener of the Sports Committee, emphasized the need to take active participation in sports. She also urged the students to make physical activities a part of their daily routine.

Principal, GDC Nubra, Dr Tsewang Motup appreciated the Sports Committee for organising the tournament and encouraged the students to participate in such programs in future as well. Further, he deliberated upon the significance of inculcating sporting spirit and the scopes sports offers at different levels like national and international for students. He also counselled the students to enjoy the process of sports rather than taking sport as a competition between two teams or persons.

A total of 12 students, including six girls and six boys, participated in the tournament in which ten matches were played.
