Leh: In continuation to public outreach/awareness programmes, Cyber Crime Unit of district Police Leh organised a Cyber Jagrookta Diwas awareness programme at Govt Boys Hr.Sec. School Leh in which large number of students and faculty members have participated, wherein the police officers have sensitized the participants about various cyber frauds/financial frauds which is being getting prevalent in the district now a days like online scam, OTP fraud, OLX fraud, Ponzi schemes, sextortions, electricity bill fraud calls etc and aware the participants not to fall prey to the fraudsters who ask you to install/down load suspicious remote access apps, ask for OTPs, passwords etc, also informed that while searching for genuine customer care number, always visit official and authentic website of the concerned banks, UPIs, Merchant/Airlines etc, they were also advice to use the android mobile phone with utmost safety and not to click and respond on any unknown link and phone calls.
It is pertinent to mention for the information of general public that whosoever gets victimised by Cyber/financial fraud scams should immediately report to Cyber Crime Unit district Police Leh for immediate action on mobile No. 9541900291, Landline No. 01982-252200, Dial 1930 or Dial 112 or visit the nearest police station.
