Delegation from ReT teachers, Ward, Watch employees call on LG Mishra

Leh: A delegation comprising Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers led by Nurboo Tundup called on the Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat the other day.

Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Director, School Education Department, Ladakh, Tsering Paldan, JKAS were present in the meeting.

Tundup apprised the LG that the ReT teachers are committed to their work in the schools where they have been appointed and requested the LG to retain the ReT teachers in their schools.

The LG directed Director, School Education, Ladakh, to constitute a committee to examine the matter.

A delegation comprising Watch and Ward employees working in the Forest Department led by Mohd Baqir called on the LG at LG Secretariat.

Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, IAS and Chief Wildlife Warden, Ladakh, Sajjad Hussain Mufti, IFS, were present in the meeting.

Baqir apprised the LG that they are working as casual labourers in the forest department and requested to enhance the enumeration/ wages.

The LG assured Baqir that the matter would be addressed in accordance with established rules and procedures. He stated that the file has also been forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval.
