Cultural revival workshop and language awareness camp concludes in Kargil

Kargil: The week-long cultural revival workshop and language awareness camp organized by LAHDC, Kargil and Ladakh Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (LAACL) Kargil concluded Sunday at Imam Bargah Hardass and Akchamal, Kargil.

On the valedictory day of the program, Hojjatul Islam Wal Muslimeen, Sheikh Naazir-ul- Mehdi Muhammadi, President, Jamiyat Ullama Isna Ashriya Kargil was the chief guest, while Deputy Director (Employment), Kargil, Iftikhar Ahmed was guest of honour.

Many prominent personalities who were also present on the occasion include Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil, Akhone Mohd Ali, Mohd Ali Suboor, Mohd Ali Ashoor, Akhone Mohd Ali Saqeeb, PRI members, senior citizens, workshop instructors, trainees and cultural enthusiasts.

On the occasion, Sheikh Naazir-ul-Mehdi Muhammadi briefed about the importance of Kargil’s rich culture and language preservation. He hailed the efforts of LAACL Kargil for organizing such workshops in different areas of the district and stressed on promoting the rich socio-cultural heritage of Kargil, which is unique. He said such programs will boost the rich cultural heritage of Kargil.

There were almost 30 participants in the cultural revival workshop and four experts were also engaged for the same.
In his welcome speech, Iftikhar Ahmed said it is overwhelming to see people have preserved and continued their unique cultural legacy.

He said the UT Administration and LAACL Kargil are doing a commendable job by taking such unique initiatives to preserve cultures across the district. He expressed happiness over the participation of trainees from different age groups.

Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil said the LAACL and Hill Council Kargil are committed for the promotion and conservation of rich cultural heritage of Kargil. He highlighted the importance of Ladakh’s rich traditions, customs, language and heritage.
