Merak: A Gram Sabha meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Chushul Councillor Konchok Stanzin at Halqa Panchayat Maan Pangong-A (Merak) and Maan Panchayat B (Yourgo) on Tuesday.

The meeting witnessed active participation from local representatives, including the Nambardar, Ex-Sarpanch, Ex-Panches, ward members, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and villagers.

The agenda of the meeting covered key developmental and welfare initiatives for the region, including: Formulation of the Annual Action Plan under the Grant-in-Aid Panchayat scheme, Discussion on MGNREGA 2025-26, ensuring employment opportunities under the scheme, Verification of PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) beneficiaries to facilitate housing support for eligible families, Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) deliberations, with locations identified and marked for development under the initiative, Preparation of the Shelf of Works for 2025-26, outlining key projects for the coming year, Functionality of the Tsangda Project at Pangong, aimed at waste management and sustainable practices.

Councillor Konchok Stanzin briefed attendees on ongoing developmental works in the respective Panchayats and actively engaged with the villagers to address their grievances.

He assured the public that their demands would be prioritized and fulfilled at the earliest.

During the session, the Councillor commended the Panchayat Secretary for his dedication and tireless efforts in educating the rural population about centrally sponsored schemes. Villagers also expressed their appreciation for the Secretary’s outstanding contributions.

Furthermore, Ex-Sarpanch of Maan-Pangong B acknowledged the Councillor’s commitment to highlighting ground realities and working towards the overall development of the constituency.

He appreciated the proactive steps taken to improve the region’s infrastructure and welfare initiatives.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to collaborative development and the holistic progress of the region.
