Chairman Goodwill, Publisher of Outlook Magazine call on LG Mishra

Leh: Chairman, Goodwill, Col Raman Kakkar (Retd) called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.

Col Kakkar informed the LG about his three-year-old organisation Goodwill which is working for the welfare of underprivileged students by helping them in pursuing higher education, providing them with vocational training and mobilising the youth to pursue their education in collaboration with the Indian Army under Operation Sadhbavana.

He also informed the LG that around 18 students from Ladakh have availed benefits from the organisation and their plan to send 40 students from Ladakh to pursue education outside Ladakh.

He further informed about various food processing products made by them with the engagement of local labourers and assistance from the Indian Army.

Col Kakkar requested for LG’s intervention in providing funds from leading companies under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities so that they could continue to work for the welfare of the students.

The LG appreciated the initiatives taken by Goodwill and assured possible help so that they could provide help to needy students.

Meenakshi Mehta from the Outlook Magazine Group called on the LG at Raj Niwas. Meenakshi informed about the Outlook Indian Responsible Tourism Summit & Awards organised by them in different parts of India which focuses on responsible tourism and sustainability.

She shared the plan to organise the event in Leh in 2024. She requested for financial assistance in organising the event.

The LG asked Meenakshi to prepare a detailed proposal and meet Advisor to LG Dr Pawan Kotwal in this regard.
