Leh: CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting at the Council Secretariat, LAHDC Leh to review the preparations for the upcoming visit of His Holiness the 37th Drikung Skabgon Chetsang Rinpoche to the villages of Shara, Shachukul, Chillam, Sato Kargyam, Chushul, Spangmik, Durbuk, and Shayok during the months of May and June 2025 and His Teaching at Phyang Village.

The purpose of the meeting was to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made in a coordinated and timely manner across the concerned villages.

The meeting was attended by Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Hon’ble Councillor Chushul Konchok Stanzin; Councillor Phyang Tundup Norbu; and Nominated Councillor Ven Konchok Tsepel. Also present were the Assistant Commissioner Development, Leh; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Kharu; Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Durbuk (who participated in the meeting online); Executive Engineer, R&B Division Leh; Executive Engineer, Electric Distribution Division Leh; Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Division; Block Development Officer, Durbuk; and Block Development Officer, Kharu.

Representatives from various monasteries and local bodies, including Chakzot Phyang Monastery, Todampa Phyang Monastery, the Director of Go Green Go Organic, Nambardar Shara, Chairman of Gompa Management Committee Shara, and President of Chillam Cultural Welfare Society, were also present.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that all concerned departments must ensure the availability of basic facilities in the villages to be visited.

This includes proper sanitation, uninterrupted water supply, power availability, medical support, cleanliness, and other essential arrangements to accommodate devotees and guests during the visit of His Holiness.

It was also informed that the Executive Councillor will undertake a visit to these villages ahead of the scheduled programme to personally assess the preparations.

CEC also emphasised that the Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Block Development Officers of the respective areas will jointly visit the locations to coordinate the ground-level preparations and ensure that all arrangements are completed well in time.
