Lay foundation stone for Additional Hospital Block
Kargil: Chairman, Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, along with Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, and Executive Councillor for Social Welfare, Aga Syed Mujtaba, Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Sanitation Block and Attendant Sarai (Lodging Care Facility) at District Hospital Kargil.

The dignitaries also laid the foundation stone for an additional block of the District Hospital. Chief Engineer PHE/I&FC, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Medical Superintendent, Consultants, Doctors, and Cluster Head J&K Bank, Ishfaq Ahmad Hakak, among other officials were present.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Dr. Akhoon congratulated the people of Kargil on the completion of these public health facilities.

He expressed gratitude to Jammu & Kashmir Bank for financial support of Rs 74.44 lakh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the construction of Attendant Sarai.

Highlighting the commitment to strengthening healthcare services, CEC assured that the foundation of the additional hospital block would cater to the growing healthcare needs of the region.

Later, several issues were put-forth by medical fraternity such as sanctioning of 300 beds, filling of vacant posts of medical officers, postings in Radiology and Anaesthesia departments, timely promotions, engagement of outsourced security personnel, and the construction of a prayer room for patients and staff.

The CEC assured that these concerns would be taken up with higher authorities and resolved in a phased and time-bound manner.

Member of Parliament Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa, also addressed the gathering and assured that all issues raised by the medical fraternity would be taken up at the Ministerial level.

He said that he has already presented various demands related to the District Hospital Kargil to the concerned Ministries and will continue to pursue them for early resolution.
