Leh: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson convened a meeting with representatives of various transport associations and concerned departments to deliberate on important matters related to transport operations in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Leh, Shri Sonam Norbu, DySP (HQ) Leh, Shri Sonam Angdu, DSP (Traffic) Shri Sonam Dorje, ARTO Leh, Shri Hidaitullah Mir, GM SIDCO, Shri Jigmet Namgyal, along with President Mazda Union, Shri Tsering Paljor Otsal, President 207 Union, Shri Lobzang Larjay, and President Big Bus Union, Shri Tashi Namgyal, besides executive members of the respective associations.
The discussion focused on transport related issues which largely centered on regulating the operation of commercial and passenger vehicles in Ladakh. Matters concerning outdated or unregistered commercial vehicles, and non-passenger vehicles being used to carry passengers were raised.
The Hon’ble CEC stressed the need for strict monitoring of such practices and vehicles to prevent irregularities and safeguard the interests of local stakeholders. He also directed the concerned authorities to ensure compliance with permit and license norms.
The officers and association representatives assured their cooperation and committed to following up on the directions given during the meeting.
