Leh, September 18:
Hon’ble Chairman/CEC LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, was called on by a delegation led by Shri Sonam Lolden Saboo Spone, accompanied by Ven. Paldan, Shri P. Stobdan Malpak, and Shri Sonam Dawa Saboo Spone.
At the outset, the delegation extended their congratulations to the Hon’ble CEC on the development of the newly established Council Office, terming it an important milestone for the institution.
The delegation also submitted a request to name the existing Saboo Chowk as “Spone Namkha Spalgon Chowk” in recognition of the scholar’s immense contributions to Ladakh’s literary, cultural, and spiritual heritage.
Hon’ble CEC assured the delegation that the matter will be looked into appropriately.
On the occasion, Shri P. Stobdan Malpak, former General Secretary of the Ladakh Buddhist Association, presented his recently published memoir ‘Plain Truth’ to the Hon’ble CEC.
