CEC Kargil inaugurates Cataract Surgery Eye Camp

  1. Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated a Cataract Surgery Eye Camp organised by Al Reza Healthcare and Research Foundation in collaboration with ASG Hospital Srinagar and District Health Department Kargil here today at Old District Hospital Kargil.

Addressing the occasion, CEC Dr Jaffar expressed happiness that Al Reza Foundation is doing exemplary services in Health care sector.

On behalf of the LAHDC Kargil, Dr Jaffer expressed gratitude to the team of Doctors from ASG Hospital especially Dr Manzoor Ul Mehdi, Director ASG Hospital Srinagar and congratulated him for dedicating himself in conducting time to time Eye surgery camps from many years in Kargil and bringing light in the lives of Hundreds of people.

He added that Jamiatul Ulama Isna Asharia is doing exemplary services in different fields of social service and added that we are prioritising Opthalmology Healthcare at the district hospital.

Further, a good number of Opthalmologists, Gynaecologists, Radiologists and Surgeons have been augmented at the District Hospital Kargil to provide better healthcare services.

The CEC added that the LAHDC is committed in improving Health care facilities in the district therefore many efforts are undergoing.

The procurement of MRI 3 Tesla machine is under process, besides efforts are being undertaken by the LAHDC to convince the Health Ministry GOI to increase the Bed strength of District Hospital Kargil from 100 Bed to 200 beds.

Dr Jaffar expressed hope that Al Reza and ASG Hospital will continue such medical camps in future as well so that people of Kargil benefit from them at large.

Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Suse appreciated Al Reza for their exemplary services and added that their services have bagged them a State award for their services in the health care sector, which is a testament of their services.

Al Reza is on a good track and extended gratitude to ASG Hospital for conducting the Eye Camp and added that every possible support from the District Administration will be extended in future for the initiatives of Al Reza Foundation, DC Shrikant added.

President Jamiat Ulama Isna Asharia Hujjat Ul Islam Sheikh Naazir Ul Mehdi expressed gratitude all the team of Doctors and Volunteers for making the camp a success and added the Al Reza will continue free health care services in future to the underprivileged people of Kargil.

Pertinently the camp is continuing form 2017 under the supervision of Dr Manzoor Ul Mehdi and every year 50-60 cataract surgeries are performed and 250-300 patients are given treatment of eye care free of cost.

President Al Reza Foundation Dr Abbas and Vice President Dr Zahra also addressed the occasion.

ADC Kargil Imteaz Kacho, Chief Medical Officer Dr Liaqat Ali Khan, Director ASG Dr Manzoor Ul Mehdi, President Jamiat Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil Hujjat Ul Islam Sheikh Naazir Ul Mehdi, President Al Reza Healthcare and Research Foundation Dr Abbas besides, executive team of Al Reza and Volunteers were present on the occasion.
