CEC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan releases Haji Baqir Ali’s book

Kargil: Author and prominent senior citizen of Kargil Haji Baqir Ali’s long-awaited book titled “Maarifat-e-Allah Aur Ahle-Bait-Rasool (PBUH), Kargil Ka Mukhtasar Taareek: Deeni, Dunyawi aur Samaji” was released on Wednesday in presence of Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan at Minjee, Kargil.

The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Aga Sayed Muhammad Ala followed by welcome address to dignitaries with traditional Khataks by Aga Sayed Towha, AD Tourism Kargil.

The book was released by CEC Khan, who was present as the chief guest, in presence of Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Nazir Ul Mehdi Mohammadi, President Jamiatul Ulema Isna Asharia Kargil who was guest of honour, Aga Sayed Muhammad Rizvi (Aga Mig-e-Oth) Patron Anjuman Sahib-e-Zaman, Suru Valley who was the special guest.

Haji Muhammad Abass Adulpa, Councillor, Kargil Town, Sheikh Ghulam Ali, Vice President Jamiatul Ulema Isna Asharia Kargil, Padma Shri awardee/poet/writer/historian Akhone Asgar Ali Basharat, Muhammad Hussain Pashkyum, General Secretary, IKMT Kargil, Sajjad Hussain Kargili, Prominent Socio-Political Worker, Iftikar Hussain, Chief Controller Finance (CCF), LAHDC, Kargil, Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, LAACL, Kargil, Dr Asif Hussain, OSD to Lt. Governer, UT Ladakh and Dr Sajjad Hussain, Surgeon Specialist besides other guests were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, CEC Khan lauded the efforts of the author for releasing his second book at the age of 82. He appreciated and congratulated the author and his family members for publishing the thought-provoking book with a different name and theme.

Khan further said that such book would be helpful for all research scholars, writers as well as all the students’ community.

“This book will prove fruitful for people belonging to different parts of Kargil to know the basics of our rich culture, traditions and religious way of life, pursuits from close quarters and generate discussion and devise strategies for further development of knowledge-content on Kargil and the outside world,” he said.

Earlier, Zaheer Hussain Babar, ex-president, Municipality Committee Kargil welcomed the dignitaries and guests.

He highlighted the hard work and dedication of the author for collecting information from various parts of the world and putting them in the form of books on different topics. Babar, a close relative of the author, said he feels the pain and is witness to the hard work and dedication of the author.

A brief review of the book was presented by Muhammad Sadiq Hardassi, prominent historian/Balti-Urdu writer of Ladakh. He reviewed the main contents of the book on the short history, religious way of life and social-civic life of Kargil, Ladakh.

On the occasion, the author Haji Baqir Ali also shared his experiences about his long-awaited book which he said will prove fruitful for writers, students and research scholars.

Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslameen Sheikh Nazir Ul Mehdi Mohammadi congratulated the author for his dedication and enthusiasm for writing books in his old age. He said the author’s contribution will be remembered by the coming generation.

Aga Sayed Mohd Rizvi and Dr Muhammad Ali Vilayat also spoke at the book release function which was also attended by huge number of guests. Anwar Hussain presented vote of thanks while Murtaza Fazili conducted the program proceedings.
