CEC inaugurates Library cum Learning Centre at Zangdok Palri Temple

LEH: Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson inaugurated a library and learning center at Zangdog-Palri Temple in Choglamsar, Leh Tuesday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurbu, President Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association-led executive members, and volunteers.

CEC Tashi Gyalson praised the efforts of the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association for establishing the library and emphasised the importance of sharing knowledge to strengthen the usage of their language, tradition, and spiritual values.

He also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Hill Council, Leh, to promote and strengthen the Bhoti language on larger platforms and make the masses aware of its significance the and values attached to it.

The MP Ladakh’s move to include the Bhoti language in the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution was also mentioned. The CEC assured the members of his support in addressing the issues raised before him during the visit.

Councillor Tundup congratulated the society for establishing the library and urged them to work continuously towards the welfare of the Ladakhi society. He also assured his assistance in further strengthening the center.

The Executive and veteran members of the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association informed that the library cum learning center will serve as a platform for preserving and sharing Ladakhi culture and heritage through books, research material, and other resources. It will also contribute to the promotion of the Bhoti language and provide an opportunity for the local community to learn and enhance their skills.

They also requested CEC Gyalson’s intervention in addressing a few developmental requirements at the temple, which were acknowledged by him.
